Our Story

History of the Center for Social Research Ghana


The Center for Social Research Ghana (CSRG) was founded in 2017 with a vision to be a premier institution driving social change through rigorous research and evidence-based interventions. Established in the vibrant community of Abeka Junction in Accra, CSRGH aimed to address pressing social issues facing Ghana by leveraging empirical research and fostering partnerships with local stakeholders.

In its formative years, CSRGH focused on laying the groundwork for impactful research and establishing itself as a trusted entity within the social research landscape of Ghana. Collaborating with academic institutions, government agencies, and civil society organizations, the center embarked on a range of research initiatives spanning public health, education, gender equality, poverty alleviation, environmental sustainability, and governance.

As CSRG continued to grow, it expanded its research portfolio, diversified its funding sources, and strengthened its research capabilities. Investing in technology, infrastructure, and human capital, the center enhanced its capacity to undertake multidisciplinary research projects and produce high-quality outputs.
